Pousette-Dart Band Reunites on Gloucester Harbor to benefit
seARTS and Schooner Adventure

After more than 15 years, the original Pousette-Dart Band (Jon Pousette-Dart, John Curtis & John Troy) will reunite at Cruiseport Gloucester with music from their earlier albums as well as the recent Heart & Soul, which has been nominated for 7 Grammys.

Celebrate Gloucester's music director, David Brown, will also appear with John Troy and Dave Mattacks.

The climax of the concert will feature all musicians on stage along with artists from the CD After the Storm - Volume 1 - Cape Ann Musicians for Katrina Relief (get the CD here), including Fly Amero, Allen Estes, Ned Nugent and J.B. Amero.

Jon Pousette-Dart

Jon Pousette-Dart captained the Pousette-Dart Band through four albums for Capitol Records between 1976 and 1980, a run that acquainted a generation with his formidable gifts as a singer, songwriter, arranger, guitarist and all-around musical adventurer. During this time, the Pousette-Dart Band became one of the busiest touring groups in the U. S., working with such acts as the Byrds, Bonnie Raitt, Little Feat, James Taylor, Yes, the J. Geils Band, Eddie Money, Peter Frampton, Journey and Billy Joel.

After the band closed up shop in 1981, Jon moved back to New York, where he established himself during the following decade as a top writer, slide guitarist and singer for recording sessions and advertising jingles. He has released several albums, had his song "Fall On Me" featured on ABC-TV Hit Series "Lost" and produced 5 episodes for the History Channel.

In addition to writing, recording and performing, Pousette-Dart continues working to promote the works of his late father, Richard Pousette-Dart, the eminent abstract expressionist. Jon works with his family developing shows for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Whitney Museum of Art, The Indianapolis Museum of Fine Art, the Knoedler Gallery in New York and the Museums of Fine Arts in Houston and Boca Raton, Florida, as well as ACA Munich, Germany, the Schirne Kunsthalle in Frankfurt, Germany.

About David Brown
Tasteful, seasoned and textured, master guitarist David Brown carries with him a significant piece of pop music history. Born in the seaside town of Gloucester, Massachusetts, he aimed his career sights on New York City in the mid 70’s, and soon became one of mainstream pop’s most sought-after commodities. Starting with "52nd Street", David recorded a string of 13 platinum albums, touring the world over with legendary pop singer-songwriter Billy Joel.

In addition to his years of touring and recording with various icons such as Paul McCartney, Phoebe Snow, Dr. John, Peter, Paul & Mary, Julian Lennon, Graham Parker, Bob James, Garland Jefferies and others, David Brown has become equally well-known for his performance on the 1982 album (and video) Simon and Garfunkel - The Concert in Central Park.
